I'm Katie

A SMALL TOWN girl turned Midwest wedding and portrait photographer.

The first experience I had behind the camera was posing my sister for “portraits” and directing music videos we filmed in a machine shed when I was 10 years old. Years later, during my junior year of high school, I filled my calendar taking senior photos for my classmates. This led me to officially establishing Katie Decker Photography, and I’ve never looked back. Now I photograph 15-20 weddings per year and have the honor of capturing portraits of clients in all stages of life.

My style of photography is not complicated, much like working with me. The most important goal I have is to create an effortless experience that leads to photographs you can’t stop looking at. The images you’ll receive from me are true to life. No over-editing or fleeting trends, just classic photos you’ll love flipping through with your grandkids someday.

Being a photographer is my dream job. Spending time with couples on one of their best days in life is a gift I still can’t believe I get to take part in. My goal is not only to deliver amazing photos to my couples, but give them the best experience possible.

My husband Jacob and I were married in 2021. Going through the experience as a bride gave me a whole new perspective on what it means to be a wedding photographer. Your photos are one of the only aspects of your day that you get to carry with you for the rest of your life, and pass on to future generations. When the guests go home, the decorations are disassembled, and the fancy clothes are stored away, photographs of you together with everyone you love are what you’ll get to enjoy each day.
